how long do you let poop sit?

well lo just started solids a few months ago. im the only one that does anything with the diapers and lately i have noticed that i wait to get a few days worth of poop diapers to clean all at once then one diaper every time. i have not noticed anything wrong with my wash routine (minus the fact i cant go more then 3 days or more then 18 ish diapers per load)

is this bad?

i am not grossed out by poop, i guess its the lack of designated time

The diapers are being scraped or sprayed, right? As long as you're not having any stink issues, I don't think it's a problem

Re: how long do you let poop sit?

sometime mine get away from me, my DD only poops 1-2 time a day, but have had 6 diapers stacked up before. i don't like it to happen, because they get kind of hard to spray off ( have to soak them in the toilet for a while, it's kind of a pain) and i find i get more stains when i let them sit. but it hasnt led to any stinkies or bothered the diapers any. i prefer to do them at the end of the day or the next day tho.

Re: how long do you let poop sit?

When DS2 was in diapers-- I plopped what was plopable (is that even a word LOL!!!) and then they sat till wash day. I washed every three days. Occasionally I would forget to check the daycare bag --I would just toss the entire bag in the laundry room--so on laundry day there may be one or two with poop still on it. I just plopped it and into the wash they went. They all came out clean, no stink issues normally. If I did start to notice anything a little bleach did the trick.

Less days, the better. We spray, rinse and let it sit in dry pail (never wet) and wash it within couple days. Three wouldn't be bad but earlier the better to prevent bacteria growth.

Re: how long do you let poop sit?

Honestly, we washed diapers only every 5 days for 5 months while we had to use a laundry mat. The diapers we sprayed and we never had a problem with stink or anything. It didn't bother us. Now we have 2 in cloth and wash every other day out of necessity.

Oh, wait..ok I'm confused. People wait to spray them off until wash day? I spray mine off immediately..it only takes a second. I don't mean this to be snarky, I'm guienuenly curious - what are the pros of waiting and doing it days later? Don't they stink up your house?

I usually dunk and swish right away (no sprayer), but I would say 24 hours is a good limit. I think the poop gets grosser as it sits and bacteria multiplies.
