Balancing my own allergies and breastfeeding

So I am still dealing with seasonal allergies in January. It just hasn't gotten cold enough this year. I've been needing to take an antihistamine at night to keep me from waking with a sore throat from post nasal drip (YUCK). I have been taking 1/4 tsp of claritin (approximately 1/8 the adult dose). It is working fine for what I need, but it leaves my whole body feeling a little bit "dry". My supply is doing okay because I tend toward over supply. I prefer that over supply though, because I am tandem nursing.

So for starters, I already know that everything I am doing is "safe", I am just wondering if anyone found any personal tricks that really helped. Has anyone found a different medication worked better? For me, Zyrtec is worse for that "dry" feeling. I have tried natural remedies (Quercitin and Nettles). They worked for the post nasal drip but gave me a skin rash.

I am NOT looking for galactagogues, just looking for any other possible medications that might work. I plan on diluting my Claritin dose down even more, in hopes of finding a happy medium.

I take two generic Claritin when my allergies are really bad or it's effecting my breathing.
