Help needed

I am 6 weeks pregnant and nursing my 18 month old. I just had mastitis, cleared it up but still having some pain, especially in the nipple area. Although there are no more hard spots, I still feel some burning in my right side under my arm pit. I want to wean my LO in hopes to get some relief from the pain. But first I want to get this under control. I don't want to take antibiotics because of how early I am in my pregnancy. I also have been putting crushed cabbage for the swelling.

Any suggestions

Have you treated for thrush/yeast? The nipple pain and burning sound more like yeast than mastitis. If you were on antibiotics for the mastitis, that could lead to yeast. Plus, you can get it without antibiotics. I hope you get it cleared up quickly.

Doesn't thrush happen to both? I only have pain on my right side. I have some scabbing though but only on the right one. Hmm.

I've had thrush on one side only.

Yes, I have had it only on one side too. It spread to the other side because I didn't know what it was and didn't treat it fast enough. I hate yeast!

Oh god that sounds like thrush. We had it for months! Honestly we couldn't get rid of it until I started rubbing coconut oil on my nipples. Safe, effective and not bad for baby. Nystatin just made him fussy and irritable. And the coconut oil cleared it up with him as well.
