Re: December - share your goals and progress

I am only going to make small lists that I know I can accomplish. I'm afraid making a list of EVERYTHING I need to do will overwhelm me and I might feel like I am failing if I don't get it done.

In the past few days I have....
purged my closet, room, bathroom
purged DD's room, closet, bathroom
purged the "tool bucket"
purged the kitchen appliances, pans, dishes
tossed out tons of expired food
gotten rid of most of my purges and made a little money

Today I plan too...
clean off the bar which includes dealing with my paper stacks
clean off the kitchen table
make room for the christmas tree
make a run to the goodwill (maybe if it fits in the schedule)
clean out my car

I can easily accomplish all these today on top of getting and decorating our Christmas tree. Yay for progress!

Purge Closet next to Bathroom
List at least 3 things for sale
List for the week:
Wash Jack's Bedding
Finish Main Bath Purge
Office closet - purge & organize
Office bookshelves - purge & organize

Entryway closet - purge & organize
Kitchen
- Craft closet - purge & organize
- Pantry - purge & organize
- Cabinets - purge & organize
- Drawers - purge & organize
Mail out items sold on eBay

We did a really good purge of the kids' rooms and I love how they have come along. Brooke's room is down to the perfect amount of toys. We donated the train table from the boys' room and now there is SO much more space to move and play. They are 6 (almost 7) and 5 years old now and have pretty much outgrown the train table. They build large, more elaborate train tracks on the floor, so the train table was just there to take up space. I also purchased some baskets to organize their smaller toys to be stored under their beds. Once we leave Hawaii, I will be switching over the Trofast system for the boys and maybe for Brooke, too.

We also donated 3 other boxes of toys & misc. items from around the house. I know most of what the kids are getting for Christmas and I tried to keep that in mind when deciding what to purge and how to organize. Once all their gifts are open, there will probably be a few more items to purge from their rooms. Brooke is getting a Mega Bloks Castle and that will replace the little people doll house she has, so the house is on my list to purge once the new stuff makes it to her room.

I really really really need a list for Monday! I might add to it, but this will at least help me get a bit of control back.

* vacuum first floor
* have DH put Halloween bin down in the basement
* finish decorating for Christmas; have DH return bins to basement
* 15 minutes in the dining room

* wrap Christmas presents
* evening: dishwasher, kitchen clean-up, final tidying

Done:
* load of laundry (diapers)
* tidy up the living room
* wipe down the bathroom
* finish addressing Christmas cards (ready to mail)
* empty dishwasher; reload & run

Re: December - share your goals and progress

I have been a total slacker so far this month! I was on a charity auction committee that took up all my time until last weekend, and then I got sick. I think I am on the mend now, so I need to get things on track before the party we are hosting next weekend.

Monday's Goals:

Organize Office Closet
File papers on desk
Have kids write letters to Santa
Assess what we have already purchased, and what we still need for gifts
Fold and Put away laundry
Clean upstairs bathrooms
Vacuum bedrooms
Set up coffee for the morning
Make dinner
Take DD to swim
Make two kinds of cookies
Supervise homework
Refill prescriptions
Call about arranging DS's Birthday Party (waiting for call back)

Other:

Clean up toys in basement
List stuff on ebay/facebook/etc
Make more Christmas cookies

Re: December - share your goals and progress

This is going to be my list of stuff beyond my normal chores for the week

- Wash the boys' and my bedding (DD's already done)
- Get the living room 100% straightened up since the tree is up and we're going to be decorating it.- Only other stuff to be done I need DH's help with since I'm super pregnant and can't lift the heavy stuff.
- Clean out the fridge
- Continue working on the master bedroom. Would love to have it completely done either this week or next.
- Minimize bathroom stuff again.- Done
- Sweep and mop
- Vacuum- Downstairs is done
- Deal with paper clutter in kitchen
