They should work just fine

Also, I plan on using hospital pads while I'm there (at least for the first couple days). From what I remember, the flow isn't crazy heavy after the first 2-3 days, is it?

My DS is only 16 months and I, unfortunately, had several hemorrhages and was in and out of the hospital. Those days were cray, but from what I recall, the others weren't too bad. I think my whole frame of reference is skewed, though Shoukn regular pads be ine or daytime after the first 4-5 days, and heavy flow/PP for nights at that point? What is normal?

Re: PP Mama Cloth

at that point I wasn't concerned with bunching I was concerned with sitting up in bed while nursing baby without bleeding everywhere so I literally sit ON the prefold or had it single layer wedged between my legs, I didn't do much the first couple days so bunching wasn't a problem

Yeah, I guess that's a factor! I'm mobile and move around a lot after my babies

Re: PP Mama Cloth

I had 15 postpartum pads and that was MORE than enough. I definitely could have gotten away with 12, a mixture of heavy and postpartum. The first few days it was nice having that many, but by day 3 or 4 I didn't even use most the postpartum pads anymore. If I had to do it again, I'd do maybe 5 postpartum and 7 heavies. Then again, I had 2 in cloth at the time so diapers were being washed every day anyhow.
My favorite were tree hugger and talulah bean babymoons

I have 8 pp and 12 reg/heavy. Thinking maybe 2-3 more heavy? Never used pp mama cloth before so kinda nervous. Have tons of preemie prefolds so might just use that. Do I have to do a major prerinse seperately or can I just throw in with my diapers?

I would prerinse. I haven't used mc for postpartum but I always rinse for my periods.
