no worries...

I could never have a glass stove top because I wouldn't be able to use my cast iron (the only things I do use, minus 3 pots)

3. Not All Cookware Is Suitable for Use on This Type of Stove/Range I have a few different brands of cookware that I use on my glass top electric stove/range. I have yet to experience any problems. However, not all cookware is suitable for use on this type of stove/range. For example, the best cookware has smooth, flat bottoms. Rough-bottom pots, pans, et cetera, can scratch and damage the glass top. Aluminum cookware can leave marks on your stove/range top. If you use cookware that's painted porcelain enamel, and it's heated too high, it can actually become fused to the glass top.

Home network is back up. Yay for getting away from work computer.

I think DH cooks with his cast iron enamel on the stovetop, but I don't know if he doesn't turn the heat up all the way or what he does. I have been warned multiple times about the lids though.

The condensation and residual heat within the lid seal it to the top of the stove and breaks the glass when you pull it off.

You can't use cast iron, or can/preserve on glass top either. You can clean with baking soda or vinegar or there is special glass top cleaner but that gets expensive.

That's why I am making my dad convert to natural gas because almost everything is glass top now.

it's enameled cast iron so if you cook too high it's going to stick to the stove top
