gritty sandy poop?

Adalane has been having seriously gritty sandy poop a couple times per week over the past few months. Anyone else have this? Is it normal? Something to see a dr for?

She has a perpetual rash, and fairly bad eczema patches on her butt, which we have attributed to dairy...can the sandy poop be linked to another food intolerance? These popped up aroubdy the same time as the gritty poop.

Re: gritty sandy poop?

Typically it is tied to a sensitivity or allergy, I believe. Coupled with the eczema, and perpetual rash, I would think it likely.

We have noticed grittiness from eating cheerios and sometimes other grain based foods. Whole grains(fiber) are not digested totally and can cause that. Maybe you can keep a food diary and compare the symtoms.

My kids both got this from eating bananas. Not associated with allergies, just if they were on a banana kick, their poop got sandy. : yuck:

Me too. I would try keeping a food log.
