Roundabout 55 vs. Marathon 70

Now that Roundabouts RF to 40 lbs, what is the difference between these two seats apart from the FF weight limit? We need new seats for our new vehicle we are getting in February. We are tiny people who were 55 lbs in 4th grade so the FF weight to us isn't that important. The RF is. By the time our kids are 55 lbs their seats will be expired . Right now they are RF in a Complete Air & My Ride but we want either R100's or something Britax for the new vehicle. Thanks!

Re: Roundabout 55 vs. Marathon 70

The harness on the RA55 is about 1" shorter than on the MA70, and the MA70 has a no-rethread harness with small head "wings." Other than that, they are the same.

Ah ok thanks. I do like the no rethread thing a lot. Our complete air has it and the my ride doesn't. Thank you!

You can see a chart with the differences in features at the bottom of this page. I've been referencing it a lot the last few days, and it helps see what "convenience" and safety features each seat has compared to another.

Ok so really hardly any differences at all. The marathon has more easy features and the higher FF limit but that's it. DH will want those then. I just want the dang cow print!

Re: Roundabout 55 vs. Marathon 70

Maybe I can talk him into one of each since our DD2 is a giant. DD1 is a teensy peanut who weighs the same as her 11 month old little sister. I'm sure DD2 will slow down and average out since DH and I are such tiny people but hey DH doesn't need to know that right now!

Maybe you can talk him into it by telling him you don't have to uninstall the seat to adjust the harness height when you turn the seats FFing. At least I am pretty sure you can adjust height with the seat installed. That is worth the extra price alone, IMO .
