Question How wide is your woven wrap? Please help me with measurements!

I'm making a gauze wrap for my SIL for Christmas, and recently bought 6.5 yards to work with (she wants to tandem wear her toddler and infant, so I'm making it long!). My initial thought was that I could just fold and sew the fabric in half lengthwise, so that it's about 21 inches wide, but I'm wondering if that is wide enough for a woven. I would really, REALLY love to avoid buying ANOTHER 6 yards of fabric to make it wider, but I want it to be safe above all. Gauze wraps are usually double-layered, right??

Some are double layered but not all. Check out little peepers keepers on etsy. Sadly its sometimes cheaper to buy one then to sew one!

Cute shop! I was fortunate to get the fabric 50% off, so I paid about $20 for the 6.5 yards.

I did a little research and saw that not all wraps are double-layered, like you were saying, so I may just go with the one layer. My SIL gets super hot when she wears her kids; she wants gauze precisely because it's so breathable.

So back to the question: how wide should I make it??

24-30 inches is the normal I think
