Fixing toddler's latch

I am currently tandem nursing my 3 mo and 2 year old. The 2 year old has a HORRIBLE latch and I am constantly having to stop her because I have teeth marks on my nipple. It is quite possibly the worst feeling ever. I am already dealing with nursing aversion, but spending every minute of the feeding reminding her to be soft with her teeth is exhausting and frustrating.

I can't just "zone out" because it is actually painful. Is it possible to fix this latch? I don't know that I can keep going if there's no way to fix this. I don't want to wean because I know she needs this, but she doesn't need mommy freaking out at every nursing session either.

Yes, talk to her. Explain that it hurts and that she needs to nurse correctly. Have her big and wide to latch on so she gets a nice deep latch.

ETA, if she can't nurse where it's comfortable for you, you can set limits. Maybe allowing 2 or 3 sessions a day?

Re: Fixing toddler's latch

I've been talking to her about it for months. It isn't getting any better. We weaned down to 3 sessions a day while I was pregnant because it was all I could take. I don't want to wean her, but some days, it is so uncomfortable I just think "this is the last time, I won't do this anymore."
