I used this very sparingly. It's been sitting in my son's drawer for months because we don't use fitteds anymore. It probably needs to be lanolized. Comes from a smoke-free, pet friendly home.

My son first wore it around 18 lbs. We used it over his nighttime fitted. hth! Let me know if you have any other questions.
