Wait for a sale or buy when in stock

I'm debating whether to start buying birthday and Christmas gifts now when things are still in stock, or wait for things to possibly go on sale as we get closer to Black Friday. I'm eyeing a radio flyer cruiser bike for DD's 3rd birthday. If I wait on stuff like this is it sold out later? It's our first birthday/Christmas buying toys and I'm not familiar with how sales work with the Christmas season.

I put everything I want in my amazon cart, then click "save for later". Then every time I open my cart, it tells me what items have decreased or increased in price. I catch tons of sales this way, and it only takes a minute out of my day.

And yes, lots of things will go on sale soon. Just depends on how dearly you want something. You can always choose a 2nd choice item in case your fave sells out. I'm just too cheap to do it any other way!

It's usually the newere toys that get sold out. like the leappad or the furby. You should be fine with the bike.

Are you buying somewhere local? When I'm concerned about a particular item later selling out, but still hoping to find a deal, I buy it from somewhere I can return it to if I find an awesome deal later. Lots of stores have extended returns this time of year. ToyRUs already started their "holiday return" policy. Anything bought now can be returned until sometime in late January. And even if they don't have an extended policy, most still take returns for 60-90 days. That gets you past black Friday at least. So if you buy, you can still keep your eye open for a deal and return the original purchase if needed. Just keep those receipts.

It generally depends on the item that I want if I'm going to buy it in stock or wait until the sale period. If it is for the Christmas gifts, I usually wait until the sale period especially Black Friday. I also shop at Amazon but only rarely. Also, I like it better than eBay.
