Chickenpox and flight!

Ok... My son was exposed the 1st.

Travel plans 16th and 24th.

What are our options... Is there a blood test to show if he caught it or not? We have a dr appt on the 6th for a checkup and we what to know what all we can ask the dr.

Also, if we are going to have to cancel, what are the airlines going to do about it? Will they let us change out tickets? Will they make us pay the now super crazy high ticket prices? Ahhhh!!!!!

Depends on the airline, I'm sure. We had to reschedule a flight on Southwest and we were given a credit for the amount spent on the tickets and had to use it by one year from the date the tickets were purchased. I hope that you find your son is not affected and that you can still go on your trip! Thank you for not putting everyone on the flight at risk, though!

I think it's right at 2 weeks that he'd get sick after being exposed to chicken pox, but I'm not positive. I do know that if your doctor will certify that your son can't fly, all airlines are required to give you a voucher. My parents were in a really bad car wreck a few years ago right before they were supposed to fly and they had to get a doctor's note, but it worked out.
