Is ebay worth the hassle/fees to sell unused kids clothes?
I haven't had luck selling clothes we never used on here, and wondering if ebay is worth the time to list/fees etc?
I know $3 is $3 I didn't have before and so forth but the time/packing/hassle, is it worth it? do kiddie clothes sell on there? Someone bought a baby item from CL today and said oh my don't sell these to me that cheap go on ebay, I would have been happier to sell them to her cash right now today Thanks in advance!

Re: Is ebay worth the hassle/fees to sell unused kids clothes?
depends on what you sell
i figure a cheap lot on craigslist is $$ up front i sell on spot's corner & have better luck than on here. but this is with better brands too. have you considered thredup or once upon a child?

Here is a good thread about shipping if you plan to sell online.

Re: Is ebay worth the hassle/fees to sell unused kids clothes?
My experience with ebay was enough to send me screaming the other direction because of all those things you mention - hassle, fees, time... ugh! That was an awfully long time ago, though, so I can't really comment about more recently.
Thanks, Rdesonia, for the shipping thread. That's really helpful! |

Clothing? Sell on CL. Even prices on DS give me a chuckle sometimes. I do eBay and it's not for the weak
At heart. It's like a job and clothing often sits. Unless its NAME brand and even then- your $3 is likely not gonna cut it, depending on the brand.

Is there a consignment sale in your area? That'd be an easy way to offload your baby clothes, NWT or otherwise.
Just Between Friends consignment sales are a nationwide franchise, otw there are likely smaller local sales near you (there are a ton here). Good luck!! Sent from my iPhone using DS Forum

Re: Is ebay worth the hassle/fees to sell unused kids clothes?
It is worth it if the clothes are in great shape and depending on brands. If you have lots of generic store labels (faded glory, circo etc) I tend to sell those in lots or take to Once Upon a Child. I have had good luck lately on ebay. I recently started using Thredup and was really surprised when I sent a bag to them that I ended up with more money than I thought. I didn't send them my nicest stuff just to see how the process would work and I was super happy with the results. I got around $40 for random clothes laying around the house.

Re: Is ebay worth the hassle/fees to sell unused kids clothes?
I think it is worth it to sell on Ebay- especially for higher end brands. For other brands I think the suggestions mentioned above work better sometimes. I don't think it is worth selling something that is only worth $3 on Ebay- too much time listing, fees, etc.

Tredup, craigslist or ebaY or consign stores depends on what it is. Some things I have sold on ebay have gone well & others not so well.
