How many wipes?

How many cloth wipes should you have for CDing? I wasn't planning on using them, but now that I am using cloth diapers, I have nowhere to put poopy disposible wipes, so I figure cloth wouldn't be so bad!

I have like 20 - 24 (can't remember for sure right now). I have yet to run out. We use them for \washing hands and face too.

Re: How many wipes?

Okay, one more question.... what's the best fabric? If flannel/flannel okay, or should I go with flannel/velour or sherpa?

when dd was newborn we used way more wipes than we do now due to all the poops. we probably have around 40-50 wipes. I learned that I like velour and sherpa much better than flannel so I gave away a bunch of flannel ones and put the rest aside for baby #2

I make mine with flannel/sherpa and those seem to sell the best because the sherpa "grabs" the poo way better than flannel or velour. Velour is good for pee diapers. I only use cotton velour (ordered it still waiting......). That poly stuff is what you get a Joann's. I get mine online.

Re: How many wipes?

I'm a big fan of flannel/terry knit. Terry's nice and soft and grabs poo well. DD has a sensitivity to poly velour, so I stopped using that.
I feel 50 is a good number to have enough in the wash, wipes warmer, travel wipes holders in diaper bag and our bedroom for nitetime. I also keep some near the sofa for sopping up DD's drool and some by the pump for milk drips.
I'm putting up some cute terry/flannel on WAHM Wares today!

I think I have around 3 dozen, but I'd still like several more, since I've found I like to use them for faces and hands as much as bottoms.

I agree about 50 seems good. I use cloth wipes for two kids and go through about that every wash, and I wash every other day.

Personally I like plain flannel/flannel best. Sherpa is too thick for my taste.

Re: How many wipes?

I have flannel/velour and flannel/sherpa---flannel/sherpa is by far my fave!

I think I have about 25 wipes, and I think I could do with 10 or so more. I have just enough to last me a few days, but I'd like to have some "extras". For now I have sposies wipes in the diaper bag, but I'd like to put some cloth ones in there as well.

One of these days I'll probably make or buy some more--it's just not at the top of my list right now!
