Re: Newborn stash...

Hm...I didn't like the fit of the Softbums Echo on my newbie at all. My favorite cover, actually, was Proraps. I always heard people say they liked those best for newborns, but I always thought they looked cheap and boring. I ended up with a few--I think I got them just 'cause they were so cheap--and they were the ONLY covers that fit my DD before her cord fell off. She was 7 lbs 10 oz when she was born and the proraps fit great. Now she's over 10 lbs (maybe 11!), and she's still wearing them over boingo'd prefolds.

Re: Newborn stash...

I used thirsties duo 1's and loved them. No problems at all. Never a leak. Good resale.

I never tried anything else, though, as I have only diapered 1 newborn.

this! I'm on my second newbie to use them and am definitely getting my money's worth. my daughter wore hers til 3 months and I'm thinking my son will have them that long too.

Yes, my baby was about 8.5 lbs before they fit my DS at all and they didn't fit him well (w/PFs) until he was about 10 lbs. He was long and skinny so everything gaped at the legs.

Proraps were my favorites too. They aren't exciting or cute but they work really well and fit great. Plus they're cheap!
