Tula or Beco Butterfly II or Action Baby Carrier or Beco 4G?
I was leaning towards a Beco Butterfly II--I've always heard people rave about it and it made me want one
I contacted paxbaby's customer service to get advice on what carrier to get and they recommended a Tula--which I had never considered but am now very interested in! ...but now I'm torn and don't know which to get--or if there is another carrier I should be considering too...I'm short (5'2"). My son is almost 5 months old and weighed 16 lbs, 3.5 oz three weeks ago. I'm not sure what he weighs now. I definitely want to breastfeed in the carrier. I've read that it's possible in both carriers...but maybe trickier in the Beco? Has anyone tried either of these carriers and liked OR not liked them? I want to hear the good and the bad

Re: Tula or Beco Butterfly II (or something else)?
I personally am not a Beco fan. I could not breastfeed in it and ended up selling mine only after a few weeks of having it. Many of my clients are also not a fan of the Beco. Tula is a great carrier and I much prefer that over a Beco.

Thank you very much! That helps a lot! I'm also now considering an Action Baby Carrier or a used Beco 4G as well...do you know anything about those 2 carriers by any chance?

I used to have a BBII and now own a Tula. I love the Tula. I think the Tula would be easier to BF in. Also, the shoulder strap lenth adjusts so you can shorten it for you and another user of the carrier can lengthen it for them.

Action Baby Carrier and Beco 4G are also good carriers. Those and the Tula all fit a little differently from each other. Will you be sharing the carrier with anyone else? If so, what is their height/build? If you can share that then we could let you know if one would better fit you both.

Love Tulas! I wore one around disneyland for hours yesterday. We have a toddler Tula. I have tried a BBII and the extra buckles and panel are not for me. We had a Gemini when she was younger and before that I borrowed my sisters Ergo and it hurt my back. I love the gemini and now love the Tula. Tula also make Free to Groww extenders to make the life of the carrier last longer. Wish I had thsoe for my gemini when she out grew them. Good luck. And give Tula a try.

hi,. have you bought one already? I'll vote for the Action Baby Carrier, I had been using it for some time now and successfully breastfeeding in it even in public. I am also 5'2 though my DH(5'7) and BIL (5'9) uses our ABC too..
found this in youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ER-W_l5jTLA you can fast forward it and see how to breastfeed in an Action Baby Carrier. Goodluck! Hope this helps! |
