I sewed two squares of flannel together and use those for DDs cloth wipes and as Kleenex too. The flannel was from old receiving blankets. I fold them in half and keep them on a shelf on top of the toilet, and also in DDs room.

What a great idea! I have a ton of nice family cloth that rarely sees use cuz dh and ds are squeamish - I'm moving some to my empty kleenex box!

Re: Reusable kleenex's. Tell me what you know....

We just take old t shirts that can't be worn anymore and cut them into squares. Nice and soft.

Re: Reusable kleenex's. Tell me what you know....

These are all such great ideas, I think I'm gonna start using some of our cloth wipes and see what kind of material I like best and then I will probably have to get some more so that we have enough. I like the old t-shirt and flannel blankets idea too. I'm thinking I'll just lay some on the shelf above the potty or I'll use an old wipe container. Hopefully we can save a ton of money by not having to buy kleenexes every month, now if I can just convince DH to use family cloth.

We just grab the kids' cloth wipes to use then throw them in the diaper pail.

I just bought a yard of the thinner fleece from my local fabric store & cut it up into small squares. That's what our family uses. No need to do anything to the edges of fleece since it won't fray. Very soft & very economical!

i have two layer flannel ones I made from pretty flannel prints and love them. I still usually use toilet paper when I need to blow my nose, but I love that one handkerchief will last a whole day out for wiping without ever getting soggy or rubbing my nose raw.

Ooh, this is quite brilliant and I have some left over fleece around here somewhere.

Re: Reusable kleenex's. Tell me what you know....

I used 1 layer serged flannel wipes I made. I wouldn't do two layers. You could go to Joanns and cut up some Jersey, or t-shirts. I think Jersey is just the right thickness. I only used flannel because I had so many flannel receiving blankets that I didn't use. I also have a bunch of flannel sheets we don't use either. I made 60 of them and I really like them. Next I am going to make flannel family cloth.

I really like the cotton velour ones I have made. My nose gets SO sore with Kleenex, and these are incredibly soft. It is not something I stock, but I can make some for you if you would like to try a few.
