Re: Basically it's Friday!

That is funny Janine, the "I think its nuts"
But I agree. These kids need to learn for themselves how to be safe. The no nut rule makes sense, but once they get a little older there is no stopping older kids from sneaking candy, or going out to eat with a friend's family and trying something new, etc. So they need to learn to fend for themselves a little bit, not eat other people's food, and keep their hands to themselves. What is next, GF, LF, EF, NF schools with only organic produce?

Well, some peanut kids have airborne reactions, so if you opened a pack of nuts they'd go down like a sack of potatoes. I get that. But at some point you have to draw the line at ridonkulous. It's stupid to go nazi on baked goods. You should be saying, no nut butter sammies, we can't tell peanut from sunflower butter. Make your kid brush their teeth before going to school when they eat PB for breakfast. Check your kids pockets and backpacks and make sure they are not sneaking Halloween or Christmas candy to school. Don't buy peanut butter granola bars. If the kid is THAT allergic to nuts, they should eat their lunch in the office.

So I have two cookie tips today. Take your favorite snickerdoodle recipe, and instead of rolling the dough in cinnamon sugar, roll it in ginger sugar. Warning, they are addictive. Second, I found out it makes much less a mess if you put the ginger sugar in a cup and swirl the dough ball as opposed to rolling it in a plate of said sugar. Especially if a 4YO is involved.

ROAR. I am on hold with KA. Making bread, walked into the kitchen and I could smell hot electrical something. Go to my mixer and it is HOT. They are considering replacing it...AGAIN. For pete's sake, Lydia's new leappad (warranty replacement) is still in the mail. What will break next?

Re: Basically it's Friday!

Do you mix that entire bread mixture in one in your mixer?
