Re: 17 months old up before sunrise

Does she wake up crying or playing? If she wakes up playing put some books or toys near her crib and let her play in there for awhile so you can get a few more mins sleep! My guy wen through a phase like this and two things have worked so far, one what I said above. He eventually figured it out and would just sleep a little later. Two, we actually put him to bed a little earlier. I know that's crazy and it may not work for you, but some specialists say this will actually make them sleep later and longer. Crazy I know!

Re: 17 months old up before sunrise

Dd1 has an amazing internal clock. As a baby she was up at 6:03 every day. She was 5 before she started sleeping in until about 6:45. She's 8 now and this summer discovered she. Ould sleep until 9:00 but is up by 7ish naturally now that school is in session.

Dd2 was my sleep in baby and was still up by 7ish most days.

Ds does not have as amazing an internal clock as dd1 but is still an early riser. As a baby he was up by 6:00 most days - might sleep until 6:30. At 3 he gets up between 6:15 and 7:00.

To me early rising in babies is normal. Putting them to bed later just made them tired and cranky. My kids as babies were typically in bed between 7 and 8.
