How would you pronounce the name...

Violetta?

Different sites say vee o letta and vi o letta. I pronounce it vi o letta, but was wondering what others would pronounce by looking at it.

I like Violetta Maddelena for a girl.

I'd say Vee-o-letta. Vi-o-letta just doesn't roll of my tongue as smoothly, for some reason.

Either way, nice name.

Vi-o-letta.

I'm wondering if the different pronunciations are regional? I would never think to pronounce it Vee-o-letta. That would be like calling the name Violet Vee-o-let, which I have never heard.

Vi- o- letta We have good friends with a little girl named this....right in her line up of Victoria, Veronica, Vanessa, Violetta, Vonita, and Valinda If you are going to pick a trend for baby names, beware of using a 3 syllable "V" name that ends in "a".......you will inevitably have 6 girls and run out of names!

Vi-o-letta, at least if you live in the midwest that is how I could hear it pronounced. Maybe different somewhere else.

I've never heard anyone mispronounce Violet that way, so I don't understand where they'd get it for Violetta? It's just the same name with an "ah" added on the end.
