My fleece is repelling!~ Can someone help?

I use only pockets, most of them are fleece inners with a few suedecloth.

I just noticed a few of them are repelling! ACK! I have been using and washing cd's since my dd was about 2 months old, she is 7 months old now. This is the first time I have had this issue.

First, can someone help me fix them? Do they need to be stripped? If so how?

Second, can someone help me figure out why this is happening so that when it is fixed it doesnt go right back?

I have been using the same detergent, boring old purex, the whole time. I never add anything to the wash. I do a cold soak, hot wash, cold rinse.

The only thing that is somewhat newer is that I have switched to cloth wipes and use dixie drops. I doubt thats it but thought I would add it just in case.

Any advise is appreciated. Thanks!

This is so strange, its like just this last load repelled! Never happened before and some of these diapers are new, washed maybe twice!

I am using about a quarter of the clear cap full of soap for a medium sized diaper load.

I think that the body oils just build-up after a while it doesn't sound like anything you did. Maybe because it's hotter and sweatier, there are more oils being released?

Anyway, run a load through with some Dawn and it'll take the grease away If your washing is able to do hot the entire time (mine doesn't) that should help too.

Are you using fabric softener? It could cause buildup! Also.. you will want to strip them.. wash in hot over and over about 5 times.. until there are not suds left!

Email me if you need help

Thanks. I never use fabric softener or dryer sheets, I know those are NO NO's!~

It just shocked me because we never had these issues before.

Could it be from hemp oils? I recently got some hemp doublers for my baby dd and after one wash seperately I washed them with my regular diapers. Could the hemp oils be causing htem to repell?

Also, for stripping them, do I have to strip the diapers and the inserts or just diaps?

I'd strip it all--and yes, the hemp oils can cause problems. I second Dawn, it works very well

I wash my pockets separate from my inserts for exactly that reason. It also cuts down on the wear and tear on the fleece. Fleece attracts cotton fibers, so if you want pill free pockets I highly recommend separate loads/ Especially with hemp. I second the dawn trick. I do this once a week just to keep hemp in good conditon as well as my pockets. I was with washing soda, hot wash (2) and a squirt of dawn (1 teaspoon if you're into measuring).

Good luck! It is fixable so don't worry!

I am about to wash them in dawn then do a few hot washes to strip. Do you think I should wash all the diapers or only those diapers/inserts that are repelling?

I figured it out, I think. I am almost positive that it was the hemp.
