I *wish* my daughter had been like that, but she just wasn't. She needed stay-dry. She HATED being wet. She screamed bloody murder every time she peed while in her car seat, and honestly, I didn't realize that it was her non-stay-dry diapers until she was almost five months old. I felt AWFUL when I figured that out. I just thought she hated her carseat. But the AS SOON AS we changed to stay-dry BG Freetimes, she never once cried in her carseat. *sigh* That's not a coincidence. LOL. (Also, I tried stay-dry liners for my DD too, and she still hated them. )

So even though I would love to a bunch of natural-fibered diapers again (we just did prefolds and covers with DD when she was a NB), I have to assume this baby will be the same. I do want to try the Simplex still though, so I bought one (and will probably try one more). When I find out what works best for us, I'll just stock up then.

Re: If I had known...

I just looked those up. Wish I knew about them because they look/sound amazing! But, little man is nearly 15 lbs and 25.5 inches long already so, he has already moved on to his one-size stash. Oh well.

I had a 10lber and I looooved these.

For those of you who like the idea of the NB Simplex but want stay dry, have you seen that there is now a NB Blueberry Basix? Same design I think, but MF instead of birdseye and topped with microfleece. I've only seem them so far on the swaddlebees website and abby's lane, but I haven't really been looking either. After reading all the rave reviews for the NB Simplex, most of my newbie stash is made up of them- excited to have a little squishy to try them out on next month!

The newborn stage was the most difficult for me. My DS was born 9.4 so all the covers ( except 3) were way too small...so we outgrew NB size real fast . I have 2 other boys that have always been in pockets but honestly ... I hate pockets bc of stuffing. I am now slowly converting to fitted and wool due to absorbancy issues. Oh , the things we learn along the way

They have a OS Simplex too. They're fantabulous and they're on sale at Nurtured Family (free shipping too). Out of all the diapers raved about here, I think these may be the most universally loved. Huge pluses for me are that they wash up well, dry fast and any stains sun out in less than an hour.
