Basically it's the weekend!

We are a group of parents that chat and support each other.
We have been at this for a while so some of us are out of the diapering stage.
...some were out and are back in again.
Every once in a while we actually get to answer a diaper question or two in here.
If you are looking for a very diverse and open group come on over and chat.

Re: Basically it's the weekend!

Fynn woke up screaming at 5:50am this morning

I thought I can either lie here and try and go back to sleep or get up, get some stuff done, and then have a nap at lunch time with Fynn.

So I got up.

Did the dishes,
tidied the kitchen,
tidied up the living room,
sorted the dirty laundry,
vacuumed though,

I put a loaf of bread on to bake and a double batch of rice pudding (that's 1.5 cups of pudding rice and 9 cups of milk!)...There had better be some for me this time!

I hope you both were able to get some more sleep!

I am up and at 'em. Ru is off to work and E is watching a Spongebob Christmas special.

Today, I need to make some school stuff, make bolognese sauce, and maybe go to the store for my last gift for Ru? I don't really want to brave the mall.

Re: Basically it's the weekend!

I did fall back to sleep. Then we had a snuggle fest in bed for a while which let to a tickle fest which let to the full bladder girl laughing so hard she peed. Oh well we all were planning on a sheets, towel laundry day around here anyway

Snow is coming down looks pretty

Agenda here is:
-groceries for me, Jerry and MH will stay here and make breakfast for themselves
-cleaning for all of us, it wont be deep cleaning just enough for company and the week, next Saturday will be my deep clean day
-making chicken soup
-get everything prepped for scalloped potatoes and ham tomorrow when my parents arrive
-staying warm and enjoying a snowy day

Oh geez Kari, that sucks!! Sorry!!

I had posted this on yesterday's thread by accident, so here's a repost:

I am doing laundry here too, though not quite as many loads.

I have not told E anything about the shootings. When Ru and I talk about it, we have been calling it "the incident." If he hears something and asks, we will discuss it.

Also - don't want to spam the thread, but if anyone might be interested in a size XL women's Columbia winter coat at a very discounted price, PM or email or something. It is now too big for me.

Re: Basically it's the weekend!

Clearly I need more sleep. I posted on the wrong thread.

Basically I yammered about my day and asked what you guys are telling your kids about "the incident" at home. I haven't told them anything yet, but I know it may come up in Sunday school tomorrow (if nothing but to pray for them) and likely it will come up at school if not through enhanced security measures from the other kids whose parents do not filter/monitor their kids TV and internet time. It would be totally easy for me to not address it if there wasn't another week of school. I just don't want them to hear about it for the first time, out of context and with wrong or unnecessary detail, from another 6 to 9YO kid. Right now I am thinking just saying it was an "incident" in a school where there was very unsafe, unrespectful, unresponsible man (in line with their school discipline stuff) who wasn't supposed to be there. I haven't decided whether to say anyone was hurt or killed. I don't really want to, but my kids would totally freak out and misconstrue it if they heard it from another kid - which is bound to happen.

Re: Basically it's the weekend!

And I hate laundry. No wonder I am ten loads behind. Ugh. Two down, many to go.

We are contemplating a trip to Costco. IDK it would be any worse than going to a mall, LOL. But we need stuff, and they can eat pizza for lunch for cheap there.
