Re: *Added Pics*DD might be allergic to Wool!

oh no, after reading my hillcountry thread and then seeing your pics... and big to you and your dd.

i'd take a break from shorties one day, and then from doll the next, maybe you can pinpoint the cause.

i'd also re-wash & lano the shorties and also wash & re-lano Blossom's clothes...maybe a light spot wash of the whole doll too...i know that the dolls can't be washed (as i emailed joyce in making my decisions) but maybe if you just do a surface wipe down it might help...if she's worn wool before it just might be something to do with the packaging, or the wash and not the wool itself

i've got my fingers crossed!

i would say that you need to find out what type of wool was used in the shorties and all the wools used in the doll. brighton is allergic to both peace fleece and full belly (gets hives)....i just figured he was allergic to those types but then it was brought up in another thread how with those 2 wools they both have lots of organic matter in them (aka hay bits and the like) so it's most likely that and not actually the wool. so you may want to look into the types used and it may actually be something IN the wool and not the wool itself.....wow did any of that make sense

Thanks guys.

I am confused as to how it would be the wool since she's worn so much of it for so long now and not had any reaction.

There was some bath confetti in the package for me that smelled soooo good but was VERY strong since it was hot and packaged all together.

So the doll and wool smells like that.

Maybe it's that??

I know the doll is stuffed with wool from Joyce's farm her own sheep I believe.

So DH also thought it might just be the more organic wool inside the doll that's giving her the problem.

The shorties are Zenstring, not sure which one.

Okay so I gave her the doll back and put the shorties on her and after a couple mins she started to get them again, on her back and they started on her face.

So I took away the doll and took the shorties off for a little bit and they are gone.

So now I just put the shorties back on her to see if THEY are whats doing it, but the doll is still away.

I think its something on the doll which is causing the problem - is there any possible way you could wash the doll with something your DD is familiar with?

Other then that,

I could wipe her down with a damp rag but you can't "wash" them I don't think.

I could wash her clothes an diaper though and wash the doll shorties.

I'd email Joyce and ask her about ways to clear the doll. Hugs, that stinks!

Okay so after 1 hr of wearing the shorties and no doll around no break outs.

So I put the shorties away and brought the doll back out and we'll see.

Fingers crossed.

I'm glad the shorties seem to be cleared though.
