nontoxic waterproof mattress cover

My son continues to wet the bed consistently and I have decided I just need to put on some sort of mattress cover. I have not looked into this b/c I want some thing safe and nontoxic since he will sleep on this everynight. We have been using a wool pad, but he wets so much it usually leaks through. I am sure I need to wash/lanolize the pad, but not sure what to do in the mean time while the pad dries. Any suggestions or ideas? THanks!

Where did you get the wool pad? We were using the mattress sized nylon one from target but we don't use fabric softener and it now leaks.

I have a naturepedic one. It isn't crinkly. But if he wets more than a small accident is will wet through. It isn't technically waterproof.

I use those old military issue wool blankets. I get them from the thrift store and cut to size and have 3 layers. I do lanilize them every now and then. Like once a year.

ya id do wool, (i do use wool) get more, and have layer of them maybe..
not sure how old ur LO is but maybe putting a diaper back on him..i have to do that from time to time with DD because i get so sick of all the laundry, and she sleeps with us, we have a cal king so its takes like 4 loads till all our bedding is clean again...plus all the other daily laundry that gets piled up...
