wool liner/insert

I am crocheting one. Does it have to be felted? My dryers out of heat....can I felt by like boiling it LOL Seriously though.... if I have to felt the liner how can I do this without a dryer?

I am pretty sure that temperature change and agitation (sp?) felt wool, so you could boil it and then run cold water on it, and move it between your fingers a lot? Idk from experience. I hope someone replies that knows what they are talking about
