Hemp Prefolds

Anyone have experience using hemp prefolds? I'm wanting to try them but they are a little pricey. Wanted to make sure they were worth my while.

I don't mind them, but they are rougher and less flexible than cotton or bamboo. They are very, very absorbent!

Thirsties hemp prefolds. They are both soft and super absorbent. To me they're worth it to at least get a few

Re: Hemp Prefolds

What kind were you looking at? Hemp jersey, like Thirsties, is soft and absorbent and amazing. Hemp fleece, like Babykicks, is also very absorbent but seems to get rougher with every wash... which is fine if you are using them to stuff pockets, but I didn't care for them against my babies' skin.

I agree too! They are awesome. Very soft and can hold a ton. We trifold them in Flips and stuff them in BG 4.0's at night.

I'm guessing you have Babykicks hemp PFs or something similar? I have Babykicks and they are nice for what they are but they don't feel as good as the Thirsties (which are a jersey cotton/hemp blend).

I have Hemp Babies Weeds, so I think they're the hemp/cotton fleece that PP described. They aren't snappi- or boingo-able, either

Re: Hemp Prefolds

I have two types of hemp PFs that are hemp fleece: BabyKicks and Bigger Weeds. LOVE LOVE LOVE them paired with a cotton doubler and stuffed into a pocket. Very absorbent yet trim. Both feel relatively rough, but the Bigger Weeds are definitely rougher than the BabyKicks. I have XL Toddler size BabyKicks hemp PFs and stuff them into a nighttime diaper for my 43 months old toddler.

I also have some Hemp Babies flats, which are hemp jersey. They are thin like a cotton t-shirt, and much softer than the hemp fleece. However, pad-folded and stuffed into a pocket they are less absorbent (also trimmer) and mine are secondhand so have a bunch of pin holes.

I'd choose hemp fleece and cotton velour doublers if you are pinning them onto baby, this way they will not develop holes as easily. They are pretty easy to pin. If you aren't worried about holes, hemp jersey is definitely softer. Neither is as soft as cotton.

I was thinking the Thirsties brand. I wanted to be able to use them as pergolas for the trim ness factor.
