Mama issues - sore, fevers, achy, etc...

Hey Mamas,
I have a question. I have a 7mo ds who I bf. 2 weekends ago we went to Chicago and he slept super well (normally he's up at least twice, I think he was up once and only ate on one side). I didn't bring my pump, and woke up on Sunday with a bad "milk dud", as my dh calls, on my right side. I bf'ed as much as possible and pumped with a warm compress as soon as I got home, it felt better.
Since then, I've been on and off sore on the right side. On Tuesday night I got sick, and I was pretty sure it was the flu (my dd had thrown up a bit on Friday night). But I'm having a really hard time kicking it. I slept pretty much all day wednesday, thursday, and still feel a bit feverish this morning, and very weak, no appetite. Milk flow on my right has been lower when I pump.
Does this sound like mastitis? If so, what can I do? I do have a call into my doc...
Thanks.

Sounds like the beginnings of mastitis from what I've read of other posters. I hope the doc can help you out, but if you want to go the non-pill way(if it is not an infection yet), then here's what my MW's protocol is:
Go braless
Drinks lots of water
Get lots of rest
Tincture of Echinacea drops 5xs/day, 4xs/day, 3xs/day etc.
Emergen-c 1 to 3xs/ day
Grate raw potatoes and place on affected spot- works as a poultice
Hot baths/showers with massage
Continue to nurse on that side and massage area while nursing
Tylenol as an anti-inflammatory every 4-6 hours

I hope you feel better soon!

So sorry mama! It does sound like mastitis. Nurse as much as possible on the affected side using warm compresses and breast massage (massage towards your nipple). Try to nurse in different positions so baby's chin points towards the clogged/engorged area. Drinks lots of fluids and rest. I second lots of raw garlic.
