Bleb on my areola

My left breast has been sore & I was just assuming it was a clogged milk duct but look around my areole and there's a pea size bump next to it ... I pushed it on & it's out if this world sore/tender. It looks pimpleish! So I've come to the conclusion it's a bleb or a clogged Montgomery gland. It is so painful and it's been throbbing all day. I have been putting hot compresses on it and took a hoy hot shower. I am trying to "massage" it but how can I do that? It's like having two nipples. Any help?! Please! I couldn't sleep last night I'm in so much pain

Re: Bleb on my areola

I was getting blebs for months straight in the beginning. Not sure how to get rid of it other than a pin to pop it. Ouch.

I'm so sorry mama! I am just recovering from a bleb. Mine was also not on the actual nipple, but on the areola. I was literally in tears when my DD would latch on and just my shirt touching it was killer! I ended up taking a super hot shower and popping it with a needle in the shower. It was much more comfortable after popping it, but it still makes me cringe when dd latches on that side. It has been about 10 days.

Sorry I'm not much help or hope, but just wanted to let you know I feel your pain!!!!

No this all helps! I feel hopeless ... My LC told me to soak with salt & warm water and massage but its smack dab next to my nip & I feel is impossible bc I have to use a shield bc dd is tongue tied ... She's getting surgery in a week so fingers crossed, she'll latch without shield! The shield presses down on the bleb. I know relief would be popping the thing but its just SO painful. I can't get myself to do it... When you ladies popped did it look like toothpaste or cottage cheese?

No clue what it looked like... That's why I did it in the shower! I couldn't look. I popped it under the water. It lefty pretty large open sore, so even though the constant pain from the pressure was gone, it was still excruciating to nurse because it is right where her lower jaw rubs. I used lansinoh on it to help it heal faster.

Re: Bleb on my areola

I had a small one when Kairi was a baby. I popped it and felt so much better.

How did you get yourself to do it? Lol did you pop like a pimple or with pin? I have a compound that is an all purpose nipple cream ( I'm pretty sure that's what it's called) and it healed my sore/cracked nipples in like 8-10 hours so I'm going to put that on it after I try to pin this thing! Lol I couldn't even sleep last night bc of the intensity of the pain & it sucks. Should I put pin in & squeeze?

I just barely ran the tip of the needle over the area and it released. I did not squeeze, but I did press down on the area around it. Good luck!
