Gift for the teacher or the class?

Do you give your kids' teachers gifts for the holidays? If yes, do you give a gift for the teacher or for the class? I am divided on whether to give something like this http://whatsscrapping.blogspot.com/2...pply-cake.html as a gift to the class since I know by this time of year most of the crayons are broken or missing and the glue is running low, or a personal gift to the teacher. What, if anything, are you doing for your kids' teachers/classroom for the holiday?

I'm getting Christian's teacher a travel mug and a gift card to Starbucks. Even if she's not a coffee drinker they are gifts she can use (tea, hot cocoa, spiced apple cider, etc).

It's my son's first year in public school from home-schooling, and she has been really great in helping him to transition, so I wanted to do SOMETHING for her. Money is a little tight, but a mug and gift card aren't too expensive and it lets her know how much I appreciate her.

I'm doing both. I got the teacher a gift card to the mall as well as stickers and dry erase markers for the classroom. The PTA sets up a gift tree with teacher needs on it and the were some of hers.

I do a personal gift to the teacher. As a former classroom teacher, either type of gift was greatly appreciated.
