just lost my job temporarily

i need tips on how to live with pretty much no money. i can trade stuff i have for things i need, but as far as groceries etc go, im wondering about couponers. i live with my mom, but still buy groceries, put gas in my car, have a phone, etc. i have $600 to live off until february basically. background info: a resteraunt i work at has secret shoppers, i failed their review for not greeting them, so i get taken off the schedual for 3 weeks, and scheduals are put out 3 weeks in advance, so thats 6 weeks until i'll be on the schedual, and then 3 weeks after that until i get a check. on the positive side, i got all my christmas shopping out of the way, but i still need a plan for groceries(houshold of 7), and was planning on buying ds toddler dipes, i can trade for them but theyve been up a while with no luck on any trades. we are potty training him, but he is a slow learner, and pees a lot so i like a diaper on him(and i am 100% fine with prefolds or whatever, just need something BIGGER). i bought 2 wool covers on fsot, and 4 workhorses, but now ive popped the snaps open on the flip covers so im scared the rise will be outgrown soon, and the bg 3.0/4.0 are done for for sure. fuzzibunz are long outgrown, but i think maybe people just like the elites..anyway i wasnt trying to make this a diaper thread, just general advise.

I have 3 large fuzzibunz I will send you if you could use them no inserts but they're in great shape. I also have some large white real nap pies covers. They are almost identical to a BSWW. Just pm me your address if you want them.

Can you get another job (even temporary) so that you aren't just waiting around for a couple of months to see when/if they put you in the schedule?

Could you consider looking around for another job? Lots of people hire temps at the holidays. Or you could consider going to a temp service. Who knows, you might just find something as good or better than the other job, and if you don't find something better, at least you have a backup job to go back to. Good luck.

Re: just lost my job temporarily

i was looking for a job for 10 months before i got mine, it was hard, michigan works helped, i suppose i could go back to them. THe job paid really well and had free and discounted food so i was relying on that a lot, my lunch was always free and dinner was half off so me and ds went there a ton.

Re: just lost my job temporarily

((HUGS)) Mama. That stinks. Check for people needing babysitters over the holidays. I work and my kids are off school, so I know how hard it is to get that week between Christmas and new years covered. Even when you think you have it covered, stuff happens like my sitter deciding to go away . . . sigh.

Do you have Giant Eagles where you live? Mystery shopping for them is pretty easy and they pay you in Giant Eagle gift cards. Also do any of your gas stations have discount/reward programs?
