Church Christmas tree presents

We brought some tags home off our church's Christmas tree. We chose baby bottles as one of them but how would you pick out baby bottles for a family you haven't met? What is a good bottle but one that most people would want/like? We plan on providing a receipt but we want to make it as simple as possible for the family. We actually had the same one last year and bought Dr. Brown's but after a year of bottle feeding and hand washing I wouldn't have made the same decision. What bottle would you buy and how many would you buy as a gift like this? Thanks!

I would probably buy generic bottles like Evenflo or Nuk with silicone nipples. I'd also include a bottle of dish soap and/or a nipple basket. You figure--if they are in enough financial need to ask for bottles, they probably don't have anything to wash them with, either.

Ahhh good point thank you! We'll put together some kind of kit. How many bottles would you buy then?

Maybe 9? That would be enough to get through the day?

Re: Church Christmas tree presents

I would choose Avent.

I would also as PP said give a bottle brush, a dishwashing basket, and maybe Seventh Generation dishsoap (rinses really really clear)

Avent, Nuk, Mam, any of those seem pretty generic. My personal choice would be platex ventair, but I wouldn't do the drop ins. And the brush and dish soap is a good idea too.

Consider that they will probably have to replace and update the nipples over time. So anything hard to find or spendy is a no-go. I like the Evenflo First Essentials myself. They run about $4 for a 3 pack and have nice easy to read markings and come in small and large sizes. Evenflo also makes an inexpensive glass bottles. I used those until DS started wanted to hold his own and bonked his head a few times.

I agree with the Seventh Gen soap too. I love it! And maybe some burp cloths?

I'd get whichever kind of bottles (I liked the evenflo mentioned previously) and then maybe a pack of nipples in medium and fast flow too.

I'd get a variety of bottles. That way they can have the opportunity, which they wouldn't otherwise have, to try different styles and potentially find something that works better for them. I mean, if you get the "wrong" type then they'll be exchanging it anyway.
