Re: Did you need a 40 lb limit to RF until age 4?

I think it's probably 50/50. My DS is in the 37th percentile for weight, 33.5 pounds, and is 2.5 months shy of turning 4. We do not need a 40lb weight limit to RF to age 4, but we would need 40lb limit to RF much past age 4.

Re: Did you need a 40 lb limit to RF until age 4?

I don't recall what age my older kids hit 40 lbs. Back then, the 40 lb limit was the most you could get on a harness, so whatever age they hit 40 was when they went into boosters. I think ODS was 4 when that happened and YDS was probably barely 3.

I weighed DD today at 35 lbs 7 oz (naked except for her fluffy butt) and she isn't even 2.5 years old yet. She was a tiny peanut until a year, and then she GREW. So yes, she would need the 40 lb limit because she's already too heavy for 35 lb seats. She's 2 years, 4 months old. It remains to be seen whether the 45 lb limit on her Radians will get her to age 4 RF.

She was about 18.5 lbs when she hit her first birthday.

My 13 month old is 38 pounds but my almost 6 year old didn't hit 40 pounds until she was was almost five so it depends on the kids

Yes we need 40lb but we haven't needed higher than that. DS will be 4 in February and he is 37lbs so we would have outgrown the 35lb seats but he will be fine in the 40 for a bit.

Nope, we DS was only 32 lbs at 4, and I doubt DD will be 30.

I would have needed it (& then some, maybe). DD was 36lbs when she went to the doctor a few weeks ago @ 33mos.
