Sending Invoice vs Sending Email Address for Paypal

I thought I read on another website that as the seller, you should never give out your paypal email address and that you should always send an invoice instead. BUT looking at the picture tutorial posted on DS, it looks like it's assumed the buyer has received the seller's email address and the emphasis rather, is for the buyer (to send payment as goods).

Does anyone know if invoicing is indeed safer for the seller? TIA

I see no reason not to give out my pp address to a buyer. They see it in an invoice anyway.

It is the same for handing out your email. Invoices are great for when the buyer does not have PP. You send a PP invoice, they pay, and you are still (and the buyer) by PPs rules and regs.

Nope, it's the same. An invoice is just a matter of convenience for the buyer.

I do both but I do like invoices because I can add a note for myself easily on paypal to remind me what exactly they bought. Helpful if I am selling a lot in the same time period.

I like invoices as a wahm, because I can spell things out better. They know exactly what they are getting, there is a place for me to write my return policy, etc.
But to just sell something on fsot, I just send my pp addy. Money wise and safety wise, there are no differences between the two.

Re: Sending Invoice vs Sending Email Address for Paypal

I think it is matter of preference. Some buyers are confused about paypal so it is easier to send an invoice. For an experienced buyer, it is quicker just to give your address and let them send the funds.
(**On DS, all paypals funds have to be sent as goods. Never as a gift so the cost is the same. DS rules don't allow "gift" payments since that leaves the buyer with no protection.)

I sort of like the invoice thing because if somebody makes an error on the pp addy, funds aren't floating in limbo for days. Just my
