Re: Where can I find these items"?

I found Zote at Aldi's and Save-a-lot when I lived in a different part of the country that had those stores. I can find Zote at the dollar tree but it is not consistent. (I don't like pink Zote because I think it smells gross.) You can use other bar "soap" like Ivory. I had a friend that used Irish Spring because she got it free. (The Irish Spring smell lingered a little on the clothes but I'm sensitive to smells.)

I don't have a food processor unless that's the same thing as a blender lol

Ivory also works great! Much cheaper and easy to find.

I find washing soda at Kroger and zote which is like fels naptha at Home Depot. Try the Mexican groceries too, they may have fels naptha, but I think my Walmart had it too.

Have fun!

I just thought about this. Are you planning to use this on diapers too? Or just clothes? I have had no luck with homemade detergent on diapers and same with many moms here.

Re: Where can I find these items"?

Just FYI, Felths Naptha has a really strong fragrance, if you are sensitive. I would start sneezing every time I did laundry. You can use any old plain soap as an alternative (except Ivory).

My dds already helped me make it and even washed the first load! The smell was a tad string while making it but after the clothes were washed I smell no scent at all. In fact I like scent and think I need to add just a little something (but don't know what lol). Thanks for the heads up though! My dds were so confused at first when I asked them to grate the soap and my dh looked at me like I'd lost my mind lol

I'm giving some to my girls teachers for Christmas along with homemade gingerbread body scrub as well (they are also my coworkers). I hope they like it! I think one will for sure-she has 6 kids, breast fed, homebirthed etc so she seems like the type who'd appreciate it. Also sending some for my mom to try since she is on a strict budget
