Re: Why I LOVE my kids.....

Coralie was listing her Christmas list for DH and after 'pink ball and new doll' she mentioned 'clothes for other kids.' We talk a lot about donating clothes and toys to kids who don't have any, and we did some angel tree kids this year too. Apparently it's working .

DD (almost 2), DH and I were waiting in the longest line ever to see Santa yesterday. It was hot, boring, and we were doing everything we could to keep DD entertained. At one point halfway through she asked to be picked up... wrapped her arms around my neck and said "Loye you Mommy!" OMG... that's a new phrase for her, and totally brought back the Christmas spirit!
She then proceeded to scream her head off on Santa's lap

My 17 month old is learning to give hugs and he will squeeze me really tight and smile then lean up so I can give him a kiss. He giggles constantly and is such a happy dude most of the time.

He does throw tantrums but when he is stomping his feet he looks like he is tap dancing which makes them much more amusing than they were a week ago lol.

Re: Why I LOVE my kids.....

DS (7), has a junior loft bed (about 4 feet of clearance underneath). But he sleeps on a mattress on the floor under the bed. I always think of it as his "cave", but didn't say that to him. He seems to feel much more secure in there than on a regular bed! Anyway, last night I tucked him in and told him to lay down & go to sleep. He said "okay, but I have to make my Batcave first" and started arranging the pillows & blankets the way he likes.

DD (5), was drawing some really...abstract...pictures and stapling the pages together into a book for an early Christmas present for the rest of us. I said something about how much she likes making presents, and she said in this well duh kind of voice, "Of course. I love my family."
