Trifolding and EBF

Does anyone trifold their prefolds with a baby that is EBF? Can you do it without poosplosions all over the cover every time?

It works, but the covers will get poop on them with every bm. Flip covers have never leaked for my baby.

We trifolded exclusively in the newborn stage. The covers contained the poop (usually Prowraps or Thirsties) but more often than not poop got on the cover. At some point I started using the Snappi or Boingo because I felt the fit was trimmer that way. Now that DS's poop is thicker (although not ploppable yet) I don't think the cover would necessarily get poop on it every time. I think a big part of it is using sized prefolds with your covers to get the most coverage.

I still have trouble with this even after EBF.

I did this exclusively and found that a lot of those EBF poops are little ones than soak into the prefold. So even with 10 poops a day, I usually ony needed 1 cover for every 3 prefolds.

I do, and sometimes we have Poo on the cover but not always. And never outside the cover. But, I get Poo in the cover when I snappi too, so no big deal.

Yeah snappi'd or not we almost always had poo on the cover for the bigger ones. But I might have sucked at folding more then too. Now that LO is older a trifold will get poo on cover but not snappi'd.

Yes, I trifold only. Sometimes the EBF gets on the cover, sometimes not, its a hit and miss. But the cover always contained the poo.

When I tried this a few times EBF poo would always get on the cover and we don't have enough covers for that. Probably worth a shot though.
