Re: Blessed with Children, Struggling for More week of December 17th

*sigh* I'm so tired of waiting for af to show. I started spotting brown on Friday, and yesterday had a mix of brown and red spotting with a lot of EWCM. I expected to wake up to full-fledged af this morning, but instead I just woke up to a glob of clear mucus. This is the most irritating cycle I think I've ever had.

Re: Blessed with Children, Struggling for More week of December 17th

my hsg costs me 1000 since insurance wouldn't cover it. I knew that before hand though.

amy- I have absolutely no idea if this helped or not.... but since my doctor wanted to start me on injectables and IUI's and I just felt I wasn't ready yet we decided to wait until 2013 and I was going to try some more "natural things" .... I had tried so many things in the past already but figured it was worth another shot I have nothing to lose at this point. I started doing castor oil packs and self fertility massage which I had never done before but read it really can help with endo and adhesions.... I also was taking DIM supplement which actually if you read about them (makes them sound like a miracle drug for those of us with endo) but again worth a shot... I started taking those as well as fermented cod liver oil which is supposed to also decrease inflammation. I don't know if it did the trick or not but after 5 weeks we were pregnant with out any medical intervention at all.... granted I have conceived in the past without medical intervention but it usually took me a long time. I just thought maybe I would throw that out that.

For me I just was so tired with all the hormones and drugs and needed a break so it was worth the try. again, not sure if I would have conceived naturally any way but I had been trying with medicine the previous three cycles after i got the go ahead after my D&C so maybe it did help????
Still praying for you!!

AFM: Almost 8 weeks... one little bean in there with a heart beat so we are just taking it one day at a time. I can't help but not be overjoyed and nervous all at the same time.... lots of reminiscing of my first pregnancy and how blissfully happy and unaware I was of anything but joy and wonderful! Praying and hoping to get back to that some day.

Do you have a link to what you were using that helped with the endo? I don't have a lot of faith in natural stuff for fertility at this point, but I'd love some help with the endo since the only thing the dr can do for me is put me on BCPs and even if I wasn't TTC I wouldn't take them because they do awful things to me. Also, a link to where you learned about the massage. I tried acupuncture this fall (in addition to the meds, medical stuff, and other supplements), and within 6 weeks of starting the acupuncture, I was pregnant. So I know natural stuff can work, so far it just hasn't worked "all the way" if that makes sense. But I would be interested to learn about other stuff as well.

Re: Blessed with Children, Struggling for More week of December 17th

Just had a Dr's appt this morning...retrieval will be Thursday morning & (hopefully) transfer next Tuesday. They chronically have difficulty seeing my left ovary, but they were able to image 7 follicles that would be large enough for retrieval. There may be a couple more, as well, but I can see measurements for 7. Does anybody know if that's an okay number of follies? And then I'll have the fertilization report on Friday. Does anybody know what percentage, on average, of follicles are fertilized in a course of IVF? I believe they do ICSI, if that makes a difference.

FWIW, when I did my fresh IVF cycle, they retrieved 15 eggs and with ICSI, we ended up with 9 5-day embryos.

Okay, that makes sense...they have a hard time getting u/s of one of my ovaries, so it's possible they'll retrieve more, but even 4 or so embryos would be great.

Thanks so much for the info!
