toddler in the bath

We've used the same baby tub thing since Jams was a tiddler, and she's now a toddler . She's just way to big for it now to be comfortable, but I'm leery of getting rid of the baby bath, because our tub is one of those old claw foot ones (), and very deep, and it just seems like it would be a massive waste of water.

All the "infant and toddler" bath tubs are just the same as ours; is there such a thing as a "toddler tub" that's sort an intermediate size?

I hadn't found one. Now we just fill the real one a third of the way and sit there with him while washing him

Re: toddler in the bath

We just use a plastic storage tub. It kind of looks like the metal kind you would put ice and drinks in at a picnic, but plastic. We received it as the container for a large gift basket at the baby shower before my 4 yo old was born, but I thinks they are only $5-$10 at Walmart or a similar place. We used it with my 4 yo old when she was younger and now my 1 yo old uses it. It is just big enough for her to sit in and move around a little. We just put it inside the bigger tub. It uses way less water than the whole bath tub would and I think it works better since she is more covered in water (ie warmer and getting cleaner) than if we filled the big tub with just a little water.

And the best part is that after the 4 yo out grew it and before the 1 yo, we used it for toy storage...I love dual purpose things and not having to store baby specific gear.

Have you seen these? Primo Eurobath. Is this still too small? This served us well for awhile.

Re: toddler in the bath

We used to bathe our children in the kitchen sink. Or, just a few inches of water in the tub.

Our tub is giant and deep as well. We just don't fill it up very much.

Re: toddler in the bath

We just did a flexible storage container for a while, then, I just decided to waste the water. She didn't like a shallow bath... she liked it deep and warm, so I just started filling it all the way...but, our tub was just a typical master bath size.. bigger than average, but not as deep as the claw foot.

We only fill up to the belly button. But Ikea tubs are a pretty good size.
