Re: Peanut Butter & Jelly Sandwich

Speaking of pb&j, that is supposed to be our lunch on Thursdays, but we're out of bread, so I googled pb&j muffins. I made these today, and they were a hit! My alterations were: using butter (in place of spread), 1 whole egg, and whole wheat pastry flour.

Here's the recipe if this post has anyone craving pb&j.

I do the exact same. And then I lick the knife, because for some odd reason peanut butter tastes so much better to me on the knife than on the bread.

mostly the same as you, but I scoop the jam out with a spoon.... use the same knife to spread it.

peanut butter first, then the jelly.

Re: Peanut Butter & Jelly Sandwich

Other. I use 2 knifes or spatulas for the butter and PB and a spoon for the jam/jelly. Spread butter on one piece of bread and then spoon jelly on that same piece of bread and then I put the PB on the other piece of bread. My grandma use to make them that way when I was a kid, so that's how I do it. DH thinks it's a little weird, but his mom puts butter and mayonnaise on her sandwiches so.......

This is what we do. It is the absolute BEST way to ensure that the jelly doesn't leak out all over the place or get licked off while the pb remains on the bread/tortilla. It also prevents the jelly from making the bread soggy.
