Babywearing while pregnant

Which carriers are safe, and which are not. We have an Ergo and a bunch if ring slings. (Also a Moby, but obviously not using for my 19 month old).

not sure about safety but I'd be more worried about comfort. You can back carry with an ergo while pregnant or any other carrier. Just adjust so the pressure isn't directly over your belly 9when you have an obvious bump, that is). Wear it low or high.

You can hip carry also. It's what's feel best to you.

I wore DS1 until very late in pregnancy with DS2, and it was pretty comfortable. I say it's not unsafe unless you have been told not to carry things or feel sore afterwards. Definitely listen to your body!

I loved wearing my son in my SSC on my back, right up until my dd was born. I also used a RS on my hip some.

Re: Babywearing while pregnant

you can use the Ergo for as long as it's comfortable buckled under your belly. RS's are fine to use any time.

Ergo is fine as long as it's buckled under your belly and comfortable for you. I wore ODD until 39 weeks. (wore her to my 39 week appt!)

Re: Babywearing while pregnant

I wore DS in back carries in SSCs (Ergo, etc) up until I was 38 wks (delivered at 39 weeks) with DD. Didn't wear him very far or very long, but I didn't find it to be a problem. I just made sure the weight was down on my hips.

You actually don't have to wear an ssc under your bump. It was more comfy for me to buckle it under my breasts above my belly
