Smile what do you feed your 7 month old??

my dd is so open to eating. but i have only given her so far banana, avocado, spuash(yellow and green),pumpkin, and the happy baby oatmeal cereal and kale puffs. i know she wants to try new things.

ive given her pear before, but that burned her bum so bad. im a lil afraid in giving her things that is going to give her a nasty rash. we also do not give her anything with salt or flavorings. and she is breast fed.

Mine eat pretty much anything and everything we eat from the very first. No purees, unless it's something we adults would normally eat pureed- like applesauce. We give flavor and season during cooking, but don't add extra at the table. We're pretty laid back- I do keep mental notes about what they eat- so if I do notice a rash or something unusual, I can keep an eye on it.

We have always just fed what we are eating when the time finally comes (was so different for each LO- we were worried our youngest would never touch food. At a year, he was still barely touching table food!). We have also always just fed table foods, and when they are ready to eat it themselves, they do

thank you! my DD can and will eat by herself. I just didn't know they could have table food by this age. right now she is teething and i read that giving them salty foods harden the gums. so i avoided anything with sodium like if it was the plauge. lol her teething is actually not that bad compared to the boys.

Re: what do you feed your 7 month old??

Mine just turned 8 mos and love blueberries cu t in half, peas, small pieces of steamed carrots and broccoli, cauliflower, baked sweet potato, applesauce, bananas, avocado, mango. she loves and will eat whatever we give her, this is what I could think of off the top of my head. We feed her a lot from our plate too but I try and not give her any grains bc I read that babies don't have the enzyme needed to digest them before a year and can usually do grains by 18 mos. It sits in their belly and causes problems with the flora.

We also fed our babies food that we prepared for ourselves. And, we definitely gave them good prepared with seasonings and flavors. Why wouldn't they like it? It's delicious! We just make sure to cut things up really small.

At 7 months, my babies were eating:
- brown rice
- roasted chicken with steamed veggies
- roasted sweet potato "fries" from the oven
- baked potato
- chili (yes, chili!)
- chicken noodle soup (of course, we had to spoon-feed her the broth)
- pasta with marinara
- Seriously.. everything we eat, they eat, too.

Have you ever tasted jarred baby food?

Yep- some things don't digest as well- like corn- and it comes out whole :-)
