Re: Was your ultrasound correct?

My two so far were at 20 something weeks. Both were stated as girls. Both were. This one was a bit later than the others & stated boy. My tech has been doing u/s since all my life & never wrong. Oldest I had better u/s too because I was considered high risk.... so anyways for myths on the gender.....first was high & tons of m/s. Second was low & lots m/s. Calendar one of mine should have been a boy already. . So not sure on others... some others I know were different for m/s on gender...others are both m/s so I don't go by myths on how to tell. My boy is high like my oldest. I think heartbeats were all about same.......

My third son was a completely different pregnancy and fetus than my other two. Polar opposites. Still a boy

Re: Was your ultrasound correct?

My DS I found at 20 weeks. DD was not showing the goods! The radiologist (it was not a tech doing my ultrasounds) said he "guessed" it was a girl at 20 weeks. I had several ultrasounds but we didn't get a good look/100% sure it was a girl till I was 34 weeks!

You have 5 weeks till the 20 week anatomy scan. I would just hold off buying stuff if your feelings are saying it is not right. It is early and they might be wrong.

Re: Was your ultrasound correct?

With my son, it was pretty obvious he was a boy around 13 weeks and was then confirmed boy at 18 weeks.

My hair has gotten really weird, like coarse
With the boys I got REALLY HAIRY, like on my belly etc, this time I am not.
I have no linea negra, I got it DARK both times before.
This baby rarely kicks, with the boys it looked like they were doing gymnastics all day long.
I got a horrible itchy rash on my face for almost 20 weeks with only this baby.
I had HORRIBLE morning sickness with this baby, like debilitating.

I don't have a crotch shot from the tech, she didn't let me see the screen because I was bleeding and they were checking for problems.
I have gbb. I can't comment on all the symptoms as I didn't notice them all.

I carried lower with each child. My stomach muscles were never that strong to begin with by Thi third they were shot.

I did have worse heartburn with my first the girl. I attributed this to carrying her higher because of stronger muscles.

I didn't notice any change in my hair. My nails grew beautifully with all 3.

I had a dark linea nigra with all three.

My first a girl and my third a boy were constantly on the move. With my daughter you could see her moving from across the room. With my second son I remember the ultrasound tech commenting on how much he moved. Day and night both were on the move. My first son barely moved at all. I would regularly stop to check for movement because he just wasn't active before birth.

Morning sickness was about the same for all three of mine regardless of gender. I was fortunate I never had severe morning sickness.

So although I don't think you symptoms are in your head(I think they are likely miserably real.) I don't think they are indicative of gender. I also know that as early as the ultrasound was done there is a greater likelihood they were wrong. Based off of that one alone I wouldn't be saying for sure the gender to people.

Re: Was your ultrasound correct?

I think I am just getting nervous because I have 15 weeks left and last time I went into labor 8 weeks early so I am feeling the time issue and if in fact it is a girl... I have NOTHING that would work for a girl, lol. I am having my last ultrasound in a month to check my placenta (it's low lying) and hopefully they can tell me for sure then.

Re: Was your ultrasound correct?

Right with my daughter at 19 weeks.

WRONG with my son at 20 weeks. I had a totally different pregnancy and I was convinced he was a boy. I even asked the u/s tech if she was sure a few times after she said "girl". He was born a healthy boy!

Re: Was your ultrasound correct?

I would probably say if you feel strongly enough your baby is a girl get a few outfits just in case. It doesn't hurt to be ready for either gender.
