Do they make something...

...that protects the car's seat from a rear-facer's feet?

Does that make sense? haha

My son is 2 1/2, and is still rear-facing in a Radian in our Ford Taurus X. It has leather seats, but the leather is the kind with little holes/perforations in it. I'm sure there's an actual name for it, but I don't know what it is.

Anyhow, our son puts his feet up on the seat, kicks it sometimes, etc. Right now it is winter (Michigan = snow), so his feet are wet pretty much every time he goes in the car, unless we carry him from the house or whatever. That water has got to be going into those holes, and I'm worried that it is going to damage the foam inside the seat (as well as the leather itself on the seat).

Do they make a seat protector that is safe to use and wouldn't affect the safety and fit of his car seat?

I don't know about something marketed to do just that, although I'm sure there is one out there. Why about just using a towel to line the seat with, that way you can take it in a wash as needed. A thing towel won't interfere with the seat, and it shouldn't need to be under the carseat.

Just stuff a towel there or if you wanted you could buy some PUL or something similar and sew the towel onto it and it would have a waterproof backing. That's what I do/did.

^ Oh, that's a good idea. I have a friend who makes diapers, maybe I could ask her to sew something up for me with some PUL backing.

Thanks you guys!

Britax kick mats. I don't have head rests so I'm going to put it in the top tether.

Thanks for asking! We are getting a second car next month and I had been wondering what we could do to keep the seats from getting all dirty.
