Thirsties hemp prefolds or Thirsties hemp inserts?

The prefolds because they are more absorbent. Also they fit better in pockets & covers.

I'd say it depends on what you will be using them for. I use the thirsties prefolds for overnight and never had a leak. But I think I would find them a little bulky on my skinny babe for a daytime insert. I don't have any experience with the thirsties hemp inserts but I do use the joey bunz hemp insert and imagine that they are very similar. I love the joey bunz in my fuzzibunz elite with a minky insert on top. They hold so much.

Forgot to say that the prefold is super soft to the touch. It feels like a t shirt material. I think it would be really soft just trifolded with a cover.

The Thirsties hemp inserts are meant to be used in addition to other inserts. They are not meant to be used just by themselves. They are meant to add absorbency to an already established diaper system.

To actually answer your question it depends what I need. They both serve different purposes. I use the Thirsties hemp inserts to add absorbency to diapers like the Basix, Easy Fits, etc. and the prefolds by themselves in some of our pockets.
