I'm in! I did the 2012 challenge last year and got rid of 3369 items!!! So I'll top 5000 in two years if I can do this.

I'm anticipating a slow start in January due to first trimester sickness, but hopefully I'll catch up next month. My house is a mess and I need to get it back in show-condition so we can list in the spring. Congrats to all those off to a huge start!!!

Tossed 5 kitchen items this morning while doing dishes.

Yay! I love this. As a massive clutter who can stand to purge 10,000 items this year and probably still have more clutter to purge, I found it intimidating to see so many people purging hundreds of things in the first few days. It's inspiring to see that someone who's already done this (you) is showing that it's still possible to do it in baby steps! Hope you feel better soon so you can get your house listed!

Now I'm rearranging furniture...back to purging in a little while. Does anyone else seem to spend more time mining stuff from room to room than actually getting rid of it???

I'm with you on both counts. I had stuff expiring in 2011. I thought I'd clean out my cabinet since then! Lol

And we've taken out 350 items and my 6 year old said you can't even tell lol. I could probably hit 10.000 especially if I count all the little stuff. Some of it I'm just counting as a lit because I feel guilty counting it individually lol

Starting my post for today because otherwise I'll forget the numbers!

Sorted my son's pj drawer and put 10 items in the donate pile, threw away 4 destroyed items and 2 junk toys.

ETA: did the silverware drawer while toasting bread. Threw away 48 items!

ETA: threw out gross sippy cup, lid, & valve, returned 5 Christmas gifts and we are now free of that stuff and probably $200 richer. Hooray!

Total for today so far: 70

Grand running total: 85/2013

9 today from he laundry room to donate. Plus 1 bag trash. My laundry room is so clean. And my missing sock bin has very little missing socks.

Eta as my day goes by:
5 misc pillow cases
4 yards random fabric.
1 small box trash. fabric scraps.
6 from the kitchen. Plus some trash and recycle. Found 2 things if flour I forgot I had. Mixed those in with the stuff in the canister. Sweet. Full canister full of flour.

1 thing came in. So I have to minus that from my total. Ugg.

Went through my youngest dd's clothes and 1 book shelf. I posted the clothes on fb and figured if I could sell a few before I make it to Goodwill that would be great. Already made $40 and I'm up to...
