Re: 2,013 Items in 2013!

I went through my closet today- Iout a HUGE trash bag full of clothing, went through 4 boxes of things on my dresser and combined/purged it until it fit into 2, removed 9 books from my personal book collection. I think in all I am at 75 individual items just for today. I forgot to count the last load I took to the thrift store but I am pretty sure it was at least the same, plus sold 28 books to the consignment shop, and sold 3 items today- so almost to 200 . I have more areas I plan to tackle (like my son's book shelf) and I have another 47 books waiting to go up for sale locally already.

Feels SO good!

I am joining! We went through the kids books tonight, but I didn't count how many we purged yet, the baby melted down at the very end so we left piles on the floor . Things will be slow going for us until our four week old is more willing to be put down, but I'm sure we will make up for it.

Re: 2,013 Items in 2013!

I did 25 today and 10 yesterday so add 35 to my 65 = 100 gone

Will be quite a lot more tomorrow when I tackle the pantry and kids rooms more.

This is dh's one day off a week so I'm hoping while he's home I'll be able to slip upstairs unnoticed and tackle some clutter.

ETA: I'm at 255/2013.....1758 to go....257 things gone, 1756 to go!

How do you guys count things going to the storage building? It's some baby things that I want to keep and memory type stuff. But it won't be coming back in my house unless I decide to have another one.

Last do the kitchen. Thought to myself why do I have this nice set of silverware we got as a wedding gift stashed away and we are using mismatched thrift store stuff everyday?

We now will use the weeding gift everyday.

50 more things gone.

480/1533 left to go

They don't count IMO. You still own them, they're still in your possession, if you were to move, they are still physical items, to me they don't count. Putting them in storage is no different than putting them in the basement or attic IMO. With that said, you can count however you wish...there are no rules - each of us makes our own rules that works for us so if you want to count them, you certainly can

I don't think I will. I'm sure I have plenty to get rid of without that! Plus that will help offset new stuff that manages to wiggle in...as hard as I may try to stop it!
