Thanks for starting this back up!! Excited to join back in as we figure out what stays and goes in our new home!!

Eta: got rid of...
-6 Christmas cards
-6 Christmas bags that weren't reusable
-some small squares of wrapping paper I've had for years
-some general Christmas packaging/wrapping trash.

Organized my sewing/wrapping closet a bit, as well. Still a work in progress as I change the way I store my sewing stuff and bills.

Also getting rid of the lid for my old wrapping paper storage box, as I converted to an upright container. The lid was broken, so it definitely goes. If I can't find a use for the tub it will go, too.

Eta: got a jump start on tomorrow with

-7 expired meds/vitamins/creams
-1 medicine cup
-1 thermometer cover (missing thermometer)
-1 toothbrush (replaced)
-styling lotion with only a few drops left

Reorganized the master bath closet to neatly store meds, extra hygiene products, blankets, and new towels I bought with Christmas money. BTW, I DON'T recommend Duet brand towels from Bed Bath and Beyond. They discolor and lint a ridiculous amount in the first wash. Argh! I have a feeling I will have brown fuzz on me for months to come.

Hubby is still putting the boys down, so I went on down the list

Purged:

-5 pieces of junk mail
-2 Spanish owners manuals to the boys' Christmas gifts
-removed a keyboard and storage container from my office, but will have to decide who I am giving them to, or where else I can use the storage container...wonder if it will fit under our bed

Also hit the laundry room:

-2 cleaners given to me that I wouldn't use (one almost empty)
-2 pair of shoes the boys outgrew (put away for baby)
-put toys, shoes, and other items emptied from the car in their proper places
-hung book bags after emptying blankets and changes of clothes
-purged 3 or 4 Wal-mart bags
-trashed an opened bottle of water

12-31

Well I actually did this a couple days ago. I tossed about 80% of my Christmas ornaments. I wanted to downsize. I also tossed quite a few decorations, lights, etc that I have never used. So I went from 2 Christmas totes to one yay!

Today I tossed a few more of DD's toys to make room for a tea set she wanted to keep. I also went through DD's drawers and tossed some mismatch socks, old undies, etc.

Sold my stroller so that will ship on Wednesday. I also listed my entertainment center on CL and I plan on listing a book shelf

What a great way to start the New Year - with a clean master bathroom (the room that often gets neglected in my home)!

I purged 10 toiletry items (half used lotions, etc)

Our Christmas tree is still up, but will be coming down today. I bought two plastic storage bins with red covers at Target yesterday to keep my Christmas decorations. I am going to attempt to pare down Christmas items to fit in these two bins....wish me luck!

Whoot! I missed yesterday, but I did set aside a big box of ornaments that I'd been meaning to use to make a wreath...lol I don't really have much in the xmas decorations as I don't care much for holiday decorating.

Going to work on the bathroom today!

Re: Mini Minimalist Challenge: 12/31-1/4

I would like to try.

1/1/13

Since we don't celebrate holidays I will jump right into my bathroom cabinets where we have too much unused stuff.

Done. I just pitched 6 bottles with expiration dates between '09-'11, hair dye, hair oil, hospital pads from when ds2 was born, and an old scrub brush.

Bathroom-- DONE!!! WHOOT! WAYYY too much to list. I didn't realize how hard it is to let go of some things. There's more I could have probably parted with but it's tied to my old profession as a hairstylist.. I still do hair from home. Still ended up with half a trash can full!
