Re: The 25lb Challenge January thread

How do I figure out calorie content for things like soups and stews made ftom scratch? Do I have to measure and weigh each item individually then divide it by cups?

If you know about how many servings it makes they you can go under recipes and enter in the ingredients and the amount you think it serves. That's what I do.

1290 seems low. I started at 175 and it put me at 1400 something. I also set it up to lose 1 lb/week, and I still average more loss than that. It's recently put me at 1290 but I keep it at 1300 because I need the wiggle room. Gonna add you!

From the food tab click on Recipes. You enter all your ingredients and number of servings. It is a pain for a while, but now that I have entered a lot of what we normally eat, it's super easy.

Re: The 25lb Challenge January thread

Well I am at a loss today ladies and need your opinions. This is the one day that I get to splurge and pick whatever I want ,no input from SO or the kids.

Should I eat what I want no matter the calories ?

or

Eat what I want in reason and go for the lower cal version

or

Pick one splurge item ankeep everything else within my "diet" .

chicken caesar salad- bake chicken with a little fat free ceasar dressing brushed on and serve over greens with a little dressing

Chicken and tomato basil - diced the chicken cook it then add tomatoes and fresh basil and garlic cook for 3-5 min and serve over noodles or spaghetti squash

Artichoke chicken and red mashed potatoes- bake chicken in last 5-10 minutes of cooking top with artichoke hearts and sprinkle with cheese serve with mashed potatoes & carrots (cook carrots with potatoes and mash it all together and add in an oz of fat free cream cheese for each serving you are making)
